President: Alwyn Crawshaw SEA BWS PNAPA PPSAA FRSA
Alwyn is the author of 28 books for Harper Collins and 68 half hour programmes which have all been screened by channel 4, some by the BBC, the Learning Channel and the Travel Channel, as well as world wide. He is also a regular contributor to the "Leisure Painter" magazine. Alwyn takes painting courses, and lectures throughout Britain and abroad.
A Letter from Alwyn Crawshaw for our Centenary Celebration and Exhibition 2012
Over twenty years ago I felt very honoured and proud when asked to be the President of Devon' s most prestigious Art Society. During those years I have enjoyed many happy times through the medium of painting and, of course, friendship.
Because of where June and I now live in Norfolk, visits to the Society are unfortunately very limited but we carry the Society's name and past glory wherever we are.
Let us applaud our Society that has flourished for 100 years. It is a tribute to all its enthusiastic and talented members past and present.
The county of Devon should be very proud of Devon Art Society.
